As you see if you don't select Expand now this row doesn't expand. It will expand into eight rows when you print it.
This makes varying ranges with many steps easier to handle because they don't expand until the order is printed.
It can also save paper and offers more flexibility because when you print an order you can handle varying ranges which haven't expanded in three different ways:
Choose the option Reports->Print Bar List with Drawings->Setting 1.
The Varying ranges field has three options:
You can try printing the order in all three different ways and see the results. In the Imperial System with inches rounded to 1/8" and with Expand only mask, for instance:
Remember that this flexibility to choose among these three options when printing the order only applies to rows in which the Expand now field was not selected. Those which were expanded immediately always print as Full expand.
How the varying lengths are rounded (in the previous case they were rounded to 1/8") is setup at the measuring system configuration.
We have a entered a row with only one varying value, but it is possible to define several of them, just in the same way. It is also possible to define angles as varying values.
