Arcs

Choose General->Models->Add / Change / Delete.

You are now in the model window. Choose the menu option Item->Add Piece.

The mouse pointer has changed to + (crosshairs) and on the window title you can read: INDICATE BEGINNING POINT OF NEW PIECE.

Click with the left mouse button on 2-G.

A small red point has appeared there and on the window title you can read:

INDICATE END OF LINE.

Click with the right mouse button on 2-C.

A red line has been drawn between both points and on the window title you can read again: INDICATE END OF LINE.

Click with the right button on 10-C.

Choose Member->Add Arc to selected piece, anticlockwise or press the "P" key.

On the window title you can read: INDICATE CENTER OF ARC.

Click with the right button on 10-E. You can use the left instead of the right button, but using the right button you make sure the arc is exactly tangent to the second member ( remember the first chapter: Making your first Model )

A small point has appeared on 10-E and on the window title you can read:

INDICATE END OF ARC

Click with the right button on 10-G

We are going to create another model.

Choose General->Models->Add / Change / Delete.

Type model code 2007 and press OK.

You are now in the model window. Choose the menu option Item->Add Piece.

The mouse pointer has changed to + (crosshairs) and on the window title you can read: INDICATE BEGINNING POINT OF NEW PIECE.

Click with the left mouse button on 5-F.

A small red point has appeared there and on the window title you can read:

INDICATE END OF LINE.

Choose Member->Add Arc to selected piece, clockwise or press the "O" key.

On the window title you can read: INDICATE CENTER OF ARC

Click with the right button on 10-F.

A small point has appeared on 10-F, it's the center of the arc, and on the window title you can read: INDICATE END OF ARC

Click with the LEFT button on a position a bit lower than 5-F. This click must be on a position a bit lower than the first point of the piece 5-F, because the program will draw a clockwise arc beginning in the first point and ending in the point where you click now. If you click exactly on the same point or higher than the first point, then it will be a very small arc.

An arc has been drawn and on the window title you can read again: INDICATE END OF LINE.

We could end the piece here, but we are going to complete it by adding a small extra segment which could be used to close the circle at the workshop.

Click with the left button on 5-J.

Press Esc or choose Drawing->Abort Current Operation.

The mouse pointer has changed to its original shape. You are no longer drawing the model.

The piece you have just drawn is in red, and on the window caption you can read:

DRAWING MODE, Working with ITEM: Piece[1]

Choose File->Exit.

Answer Yes to the question: ¿ Do you want to save the information ?

Now you can test models 2006 and 2007 as is the previous chapters. You can either use the order you entered before or start a new one.

In further chapters we will explain how to make the program calculate the perimeter from the radius, so that when making an order only the radius must be entered.
